Celebrating Vicky Teinaki

Devastated to learn of the sudden death of Vicky Teinaki . The public sector design community has lost one of its most enthusiastic and curious members. A designer, assessor and trainer, I always admired the way she could explain complex things in a way anyone could understand. She was also a one-woman RSS feed, and her blog posts were always a rich source of ideas and useful links. We chatted regularly over the years and it’s at times like this when I wish the cross-government Slack didn’t slowly lose its messages over time, as soon her contributions there will be gone. I only met her in person for the first time at last year’s SD in Gov where she had run a class on form design. I went to say hi and she gave me a hug, and we had a funny chat about Defra. I was really pleased she had started working at the NHS. The organisation would benefit from her enthusiasm and experience. I’m sure her influence was already being felt.
