Celebrating Vicky Teinaki

Vicky was a legend in the Government Design Community, so much so that I felt a bit star struck the first time I met her in person, her reputation as a generous and prolific design expert was that big and far-reaching. I don't know if I ever told her how much impact I saw her having in the global gov design community and on my own confidence in my writing and expertise. I probably felt like it would be too awkward and uncool to gush. But now I wish I had told her how much she meant to all of us, including those of us working in quiet corners far away (like Canada.) Her loss feels unfathomable and I am deeply sad that I won't be seeing her words or energy in these spaces anymore. I hope her close friends and family are surrounded in love and care, and that they know how much she truly changed public services and those delivering them in profound ways.
